Rock on Water at Red Rock Resort July 24-Sept. 25
Jul 24, 2010
For rock concerts that cut to the very heart of “cool” Red Rock Resort might just be the epicenter of hot. Party on the Rocks is its summer rock and pool fest, which means big names and great sounds from the poolside stage that can be enjoyed both in the water and out.
The new Saturday night concert series runs through September and comes with a variety of Belvedere vodka specials for those who want to have a drink on the rocks while enjoying the new Party on the Rocks.
The artists scheduled span the genres and decades, including:
July 24 – BoDeans, rock
July 31 – Big Head Todd & The Monsters, blues-rock
August 7 – Pat Green, country
August 21 – The Romantics, rock/new wave
August 28 – The Tubes, rock/new wave
September 11 – Toad the Wet Sprocket, alternative rock
September 25 – The Smithereens, rock/new wave
And the price is right. Tickets for Party on the Rocks’ shows are only $20 (plus tax and applicable fees). Of course there is the VIP booth alternative for $300 (plus tax and applicable fees) that includes eight tickets to the concert as well as a bottle of select vodka, whiskey or rum.
Red Rock Resort is Station Casino’s rock ‘n roll brand that appeals to the younger set with large, handsome rooms (some 800 of these), a Rande Gerber nightclub called Cherry, a slick pool scene and an indulgent spa. Also find ten restaurants, movie theatres, bowling at Red Rock Lanes and a full array of gaming.
The location of the resort is quite a distance from the Strip – about 10 miles west on Charleston Avenue, putting the property in proximity to Red Rock State Park – a magnificent natural outcropping of fiery cliffs and chasms – and some of the best golf in Las Vegas.
Active vacationers can check out the property’s Adventure Spa concept, which leads morning tours around the area, whether into the mountains on horseback, jeep trips into the outback or hiking into spectacular desert scenery.
