Art A Fair Festival: in Laguna Beach, June 25-August 29, 2010

Jun 26, 2010

Showcasing more than 125 artists from around the world, the Art A Fair Festival brings together all things creative and inspiring in a variety of mediums including oil paintings, drawing, photography, jewelry, ceramics, wood work and more.  Visit the Festival from June 25-August 29, 2010 and have an awesome artful day! Walk around the exhibits and talk to the artists—learn about the passion and inspiration behind their work. Hungry? You’ll find several restaurants within close proximity to the Art A Fair Festival—bring your friends and family and enjoy a marvelous summer day of great art, food, wine and the beach.

Some of the many artists on display include Erica Batchelder, Judith Armstrong, Iris Adam, Laura Berry, Michael Cahill and others. One very special artist, Iris Adam—a Laguna Beach native who served as the Art Commissioner for the City of Laguna Beach for many years—recently passed away at the age of 91. Today, her family continues to share Iris’s interpretation of the “Colors of Life” with art goers. Iris drew inspiration from nature and created works in watercolor, mixed media and acrylic.

Feel a connection to an artist or their work? Well, all of the works on display are for sale so you can take home one or more of your favorites. Then, roll up your sleeves for hands-on workshops and see artists demonstrating their techniques. Every Thursday-Sunday, stomp your feet to some live entertainment including jazz, pop, rock and more. On Thursdays and Fridays, show times are 5-8 p.m. On most Saturdays-Sundays, enjoy two performances from noon- 3 p.m. and again from 4-7 p.m. Some of the live performances include Bob Johnson, Fizzi Logic, Sammy Morales, Swingsations, Jazz Attack, Redd Street and much more.

Admission to the Art A Fare is $7 for adults and children 12-years-old and under are free—tickets are good for admittance during the entire duration of the show. For Laguna Beach residents, bring a valid ID and your admission is free. Or, purchase the Laguna Beach Passport—a season pass to all three of Laguna’s major art festivals during the summer 2010 ($19). In addition to the Art A Fair Festival, the passport will get you into Festival of Arts (July 5-August 31) and the Sawdust Art Festival (June 25-August 29). That's a lot of art!
