Scene and Screen at the W Westwood this Summer
Jul 25, 2010
Get your Entourage jones satisfied at the backyard pool parties at W Westwood this summer.
ESCAPE, the backyard pool area at W, gives visitors a chance to enjoy an evening swim or indulge in a weekend scene pool party at a property that is a frequent backdrop to such scenes in HBO’s Entourage, MTV’s The Hills, and CW’s 90210. OK, Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO shoots a lot of scenes here too, but not at the pool.
Open to both hotel guests and locals, Swim at ESCAPE lays down the towel nightly from July 8 through September 4, Thursday-Saturday from 7 pm to 10 pm. There is no admission fee. Relaxed dress code.
Menus run the gamut of geographies, from Barcelona with Spanish chorizos and Cana de Cabra tarts to Hong Kong with crispy duck eggrolls with marinated cabbage and fresh plum sauce or sesame-soy chicken skewers with scallion noodles and parsley tofu. Cocktails include a Mosaic Mojito, infused jello cubes, a Malted Crunch, using vanilla and heath bar ice cream or Caipi Pops, a popsicle composed of fresh lime, Leblon cachaça and sugar frozen into a delicious treat.
When not hosting the TMZ-watching hordes, Escape is running some useful and entertaining workshops this summer.
