Attn Online Buyers!!! Do not be discouraged!! by Shawna S.

Do not let these negative reviews discourage you from ordering from Whimsic Alley online!! Just like you, I tried to do some research on Whimsic Alley to see how reliable their online service was. I read these reviews about how it took months for some to receive their order and was nervous that the same was to happen to me. However, by looking at the dates of the negative reviews posted here, I think Whimsic Alley simply became overwhelmed by the amount of online orders around the time Deathly Hallows was released (July 2007). I placed an order with Whimsic Alley on January 3rd and my items were shipped the next day. I received them 3 days after that. Speedy shipping and quality products! My Slytherin sweater looks amazing! So, please, do not be discouraged by these negative reviews as it seems that they are now in control of their online orders.

I ordered $200 worth of items in July '07. It's now Jan '08 and I have no items nor money back. I have never been able to contact them through email, fax or phone. I was robbed.

Unlike many of the reviewers of this store, I absolutely loved it! When you first walk in, you feel like you're really in the Harry Potter world. It's just like walking into the real Diagon Alley of the Wizarding World. The inside is built like Diagon Alley. They separate the store into smaller stores. There's the wand shop, the robe shop, the toy shop, the book shop, and an antique shop. I went for the first time this summer, and I stayed for more than 3 hours. I bought my Slytherin robes, broom, books, and many other little things from this shop. The prices are quite outrageous, but it was worth it. Hopefully I'll get to go back sometime soon! =)

Add my name to the list of people that got screwed by this company! Unlike some of the others, I actually got an initial email telling me that my money would be refunded. But after no money and no items, i started to check around and found that they are not a reputable company to deal with. My story goes that I ordered my halloween costume from them, and after a few weeks of not receiving my order, I emailed them to find out where it was. A guy named Guilbert replied and told me that there was a technical error and that it was not sent and that two items were on backorder. I told them to refund my money (including the shipping since nothing was ever sent out), to which he agreed and told me that I would be receiving an email to let me know when it would be credited back to my account. A week later, I start to get worried, and tried to contact them through their number (which is not good) and through all of the email addresses I could find. I also filed a report with the BBB, and am working on talking to my bank about what can be done on their end. I hope that in the future, people will take the time to check up on internet sites before they dish out a whole bunch of money. I know that I will be more careful in the future! I urge all who have been taken advantage of these people to call the Santa Monica Consumer Affairs Dept. at 310-458-8336 or the Santa Monica Police Dept at 310-458-8411 so we can all file claims against them. The more they get the better of our chances of getting restitution from these morons!

Well, my experience has exactly mirrored all of yours. I ordered a robe, wands, accessories, etc. at the beginning of July. Same old same old - credit card charged within the day, no answers to calls, no replys to e-mails, FRUSTRATION! I also filed a complaint with the BBB, and with the CC company. I just noticed that a credit was posted to my account yesterday from goldenwebspecialty. (That's the name they use when your account is charged.) So I never received my order, but at least I was refunded after a few months. DON'T ORDER ANYTHING ONLINE FROM THIS COMPANY!
