Montague Charter Academy Reviews

I have been a teacher at Montague Charter Academy for over ten years, and I am excited to be a part of a school based on excellence. I enjoy working with my students, their families, and the school community. The arts are very important here at Montague, and children get the opportunity to learn about fascinating topics through dance, music, acting, and fine art. This school is top notch, and I am proud to be a part of it.

Beware! Would not recommend.Administration does not listen. Teachers are okay.

Bad school, staff members and administration do not care. Would not recommend.

My godkids went here and now my son is here, just finishing up kindergarten. I have found the teachers as well as other staff members to be so incredibly helpful and caring. Mr. Nelson in particular, is a wonderful teacher. He truly cares about the kids, and pushes them to do their best in everything they do. Moreover, he strongly encourages parental involvement. The class as a whole has made such great progress much in part, to his teaching style.

Very scary area. Don't feel like my child is safe at this school.

Once upon a time, Montague was a great school but now it turned into one of the worst schools ever ruining my daughter s positive outlook & motivation for learning. How can a child be expected to learn when they have unpleasant experiences? The ways I see things, it won t be long before Montague ruins the rest of the student s perception with negative influence. If Montague is to become a better school, they need to re-evaluate their staff and make sure that the teachers really care about our children and their future. I find it pretty sad when the afterschool staff (LA s Best) cares more about our students then the teacher.

The test scores have droped at this school from previous years. Some of the teachers are excellent, but many are unqualified to be in these positions. Some classes do not have a teacher assigned to them and are ran by substitutes. The current administration does not care much for the students or parents.

I attended Montague in the eighties. I also have two children that are students there and one child that graduated. Montague is an incredible school, the teachers are caring and very helpful. The programs help the parents get involved in their childs education. I feel like I'm in there helping my children learn, not just on the sidelines watching. Anytime I have any kind of questions or concerns I have no problem getting an answer. I thank Montague for giving myself and my children an excellent education.

I am very proud to be a teacher at this amazing school. We were named last year as a California Distinguished School--a result of amazing collaboration between all members of the staff, as well as the students and their families. Dedication and determination are two adjectives that perfectly describe this school and all associated with it.

I like this school and would highly recommend parents to enlist there children. I went to that school back in '90 and its nothing like it is today they have all this kinds of programs for the kids including after school programs. And the teachers take an interest for all there kids in their classroom. I also like that they recognize children in 'Student of the Month', I've seen that the school have high achiever, and the help from their teacher's assistant so there are two people always there to help the children. The only problem in that school is when the adults go and pick up their children the traffic is bad as well as the parking. Its best if the adult walks to the school and picks up their kid(s)
