Marymount High School Los Angeles Reviews

I love this school. Every time I walk on the campus I think how fabulous it is that my daughter is getting such an amazing education in such a serene setting.

I am a former student of Marymount. This is truly a wonderful school and I recommend sending your daughter to this school. The academics were demanding yet allowed freedom to venture into athletics and clubs. In fact, I believe most girls were always involved in some sort of after school club or sport. Great sports. The campus is beautiful. The girls are kind and sweet. Because there are no boys on campus, the girls come together as a whole and avoid cliques. The only thing I was ever self conscious about was money. Because I was not given a car for my 16th birthday, I did feel 'poor' compared to all of the other girls who rolled up in the brand new BMW's. Yet at the same time, no one ever made me feel bad about not having a car. I was overly prepared for college. Now I am a teacher.

I am a former student of Marymount High School. I traveled one hour from South LA to Westwood everyday. I must say this was my greatest experience as a teenager. I gained so much from those four years including study skills, writing skills (Humanties was the best), cultural skills as well as confidence as a woman. They help to develop the self esteem of a woman and give her the courage she needs to deal with rejection, failures, and other setbacks of life. They show you how to rise above your mistakes by responding with positive energy. Classes are fairly difficult and teachers only mean to pull the best from all of their students. I truly encourage parents, if you have a daughter, Marymount is the way to go.

Marymount has, and continues to give my daughter an outstanding education, strong friendships, and countless opportunities. I couldn't suggest it any more... Its an outstanding school.

An absolutely wonderful school. My daughter is just completing her sophomore year and has been challenged academically. The support of the faculty and administration has been terrific. They understand teenage girls and the issues they deal with, socially and academically. I could not have picked a better school for our daughter.

My daughter has nearly completed her sophomore year at MHS. She previously attended public schools in a smaller district in the area (not LAUSD). We had some initial trepidation about the 'high society' aspect of this school, since we're not nearly as affluent as most of the student body. Those fears were, for the most part, not realized, and she has adapted quite well. Though my daughter might disagree, I am pleased with the emphasis on academics (my single most important evaluation criterion). She is definitely being challenged in very benefical manner. Another concern was the secular character of the school since, we're not Catholic. Again, it has not been an issue. I think she actually enjoys the verbal sparring she gets to engage in Theology. I am very pleased on the whole, and I think my daughter is getting a first class education. In sum, pricey, but defintely worth it.

I am a former student of Marymount. The quality of academic programs continues to prove exceptional. The head of school is not only interested in the success of each individual student, but she puts great emphasis on constantly striving to make Marymount a strong academic presence. For example, Marymount has been involved in the FIRST program (For Recognition and Inspiration of Science and Technology) which is a national robotic competition. Ms Gozdecki recognized the importance of women pursuing technology careers and this enables students an opportunity to pursue their interests in this field. There is a strong sense of community that continues after graduation with former students gathering back at Marymount for a variety of social activities - Home for the Holidays and the Easter Egg Hunt are two examples. I look forward to the day when my daughter will attend Marymount.

Very nice girls. Safe, calm envirnoment.

Fantastic. the support for the students is outstanding. this school truly prepares the girls for the future and helps every step of the way. Small classes, many options for extra help.

Marymount is a stupendous school. Girls feel welcome here and are not self-conscious. I highly recommend this school for your teenage daughter. The campus is absolutly breathtaking and the academics and sports here are superb. There are many opportunities at Marymount such as trips with your daughter's class to Europe!
