Mary McLeod Bethune Middle School Reviews

I attended this school and had a good academic ecperience. A lot depends on the students.

This school could use some improvements.Like mor computers in the classrooms and a variety of teachers. The school has too many schools. Classes are to long.A block scheduel doesn't work for me. All periods aa day would be good.other than that, it's okay, iguess

I graduated from Bethune Middle School in 2006 and I have to say that I really enjoyed my experience in this school. I recommend it.

I'm an eigth grade magnet student at Bethune, and I give this school a three out of five because my experience in the Magnet has been great, but I think the other kids could be a bit better behaved. The teachers that I've had, have, and know about, are hard working and involved in helping the kids out a lot. A person just needs positive support and dedication to excel at Bethune.

Some teachers are dedicated and hard-working, but there have been lots of changes in administration that negatively effect this school. Also, the school day is too long in my opinion. Starting time at 7:30 and over after 3:00. Too long. Time would be much better utilized if things like homeroom and nutrition were cut out and the left over time gone to lengthen the lunch period. There used to be just one lunch period for 30 minutes and that was too short to accomodate the huge number of students in attendance. Extracurricular course are not used wisely. Students are just 'dumped' into classes like Yearbook and Drama whether they want to be there or not, and usually it's the students with behavior problems who are enrolled in those classes. Administrators are not very supportive of teachers who send students to the office for sever behavior problems.

Bethune has a long way to go in providing quality education to its students.

I think that the school in general has some dedicated teachers, it's just the students who act out too much, but the people really care.
