With a large pool of acting talent, Los Angeles boasts a vibrant theatre scene, ranging from small, experimental groups to lavish, Broadway-style productions. Downtown's Performing Arts Center is home to the Ahmanson Theatre and Tony Award-winning Mark Taper Forum, and their parent Center Theatre Group's Culver City venue, the Kirk Douglas Theatre produces cutting-edge new works. Culver City is also the new base for art galleries, some say.
